Strange Creature

Strange Creature

Strange Creature
We met so much closer to the shore
And now it seems my every thought
Leads me to your inland door
The fire in your eyes so bright
Like I've never seen before
I think two stars fell from the night
That blessed morning you were born

Something in your voice
Raises my wings to fly
I want to see you
In your star light
With your eyes that sparkle
And your face so bright
I'd love to see you

The sound of your voice calling my name
Raised me from the ground
Where I laid broken
I could not move or even breath a sound
You whispered, "It's all right"
and stroked my feathered crown
You kept me warm through cold, cold nights
Then I watched you leave town

Something in your voice
Raises my wings to fly
I want to see you
In your star light
With your eyes that sparkle
And your face so bright
I'd love to see you
